Apex Care Centre
Apex Care Centre is a purpose built care home in the seaside town of Mablethorpe. It is located centrally in the town and is walking distance to the local amenities and the local market.
The Home, originally built in the 1960s, has been completely renovated, to a very high standard, to provide accommodation for the care of the elderly. It has five separate units with 8 bedrooms in each unit. Each unit is named after a precious stone and decorated in a colour scheme related to that stone colour. Every bedroom is individual and is decorated to the colour scheme of the gem.
Each unit has a lounge and a kitchen, allowing residents to sit with visitors in their own unit lounge and make their own refreshments, should they wish to. All 40 bedrooms have doors giving access to the secure grounds. All the doors are on a separate alarm monitoring system.
The accommodation we provide is designed to make our residents feel comfortable in their surroundings. We actively encourage residents to decorate their room with their own belongings to promote a sense of familiarity. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, and each unit has access to multiple bathroom facilities.
As well as large private areas, the home has a large lounge where residents can relax or meet with visitors.
At the rear of the house, there are large landscaped gardens where residents can sit or enjoy a spot of gardening.
We also take our residents on frequent day excursions or trips outside the home as a way of encouraging more social interaction, physical and mental stimulation.
Cuisine
Our catering staff provide a traditional and varied menu of delicious home-cooked meals. All specific dietary requirements and nutritional needs of residents are catered for.
At Apex Care Centre, we understand that good quality, nutritious food as an important component for health and well-being in all our residents' lives.
The cuisine at our home is all locally sourced and freshly prepared each day. Our chef provides a varied and balanced menu and happily caters for special diets and preferences, where requested. Fresh fruit and vegetables from our local suppliers are offered daily.
At Apex Care Centre, none of the food served is delivered ready-made, and all dishes are cooked on the premises in our well-equipped and clean kitchen. Drinks and snacks are also served throughout the day.
Residents can choose to enjoy the social aspect of meal times by taking their meals in our comfortable dining room or in the privacy of their own rooms, if they so choose.
Residential Care in Ruby
We recognise that as people get older, circumstances can change and it becomes more difficult to live a fulfilled and happy life in your own home. The responsibility of day-to-day living can become a worry for the individual or their family.
Apex Care Centre has dedicated rooms to provide residents who do not have nursing requirements with a comfortable and relaxed home environment without the burden of home maintenance, bills, laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc. The Home’s care team will be there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to encourage independent spirit of residents and ensure all needs are met and each day is worry-free.
Nursing Care in Amethyst and Emerald
Those residents who require Nursing Care Services also benefit from the same in-home facilities that are for our Residential residents. They will also have a dedicated team of round-the-clock Registered General Nurses who report to the Head of Care.
To ensure consistency of care, our nursing team will liaise regularly with the resident’s GP and other healthcare professionals.
We will maintain the very best nursing equipment to ensure the comfort and safety of our residents. We have the latest profiling beds, moving and handling equipment and hydrotherapy baths.
Dementia Care in Sapphire and Topaz
Apex Care Centre offers specialist support for those living with dementia; a range of diseases and conditions that affect the brain and brain functions where symptoms may include memory loss/confusion, sudden and sometimes extreme changes of mood and difficulty in communicating. Our purpose-built home provides a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment for the residents along with clinical expertise that gives ‘peace of mind’.
Our Dementia unit is independent and has been specifically adapted to provide this safe environment.
All staff working within this unit will have completed specialist dementia training to ensure that they are well equipped to help and care for those living with dementia and particularly to encourage and retain the residents’ sense of independence as far as possible.
Palliative Care in Emerald
Palliative care provides a resident with advanced and progressive illness the special support to ensure the best quality of life as they deal with the terminal disease. This is done alongside medical care and treatment.
Through care and support, we will strive to relieve some of the worry associated with long-term illness and help those individuals live each day active and happy.
The care staff working within this unit will have completed specialist end-of-life training. Our nursing staff are also qualified in providing the care and support to both the residents and their families.
Respite Care
At Apex Care Centre, we will provide the very same high-quality care services that are enjoyed by our long-term residents to individuals who come to us on a short-term basis.
Respite care is suitable for:
- Those individuals who would like to take a short break with us, safe in the knowledge that all their needs can be accommodated
- On discharge from hospital, many people may require additional care to start the recovery process. We can accommodate most of the clinical care requirements
- Sometimes full-time carers need a short break. We can provide high quality care service so that the relative can relax and have some time-out
- Some individuals may wish to come to us on a short term as a ‘trial’ basis to ensure that the resident will be comfortable should they require longer-term care
Using the experience of our staff, residents, relatives and healthcare professionals, we aim to provide the highest quality of care services within Apex Care Centre. We will aim to enable our residents to maintain as much independence as they can for as long as they can by balancing risk with quality of day-to-day living to maintain lifestyle choices.
